The All Inclusive Workshop:
(One day with each Instructor)

  • Christi Friesen -- "Fantasy Garden Mirror"
This is a medium-sized mirror - 6-8" with an assortment of leaves and plants including a "woven" palm tree, bubble flowers and beaded vines. The use of wire armatures in the larger leaves will be covered in the class. Emphasis is on creating a fusion of organic/beaded elements.
Optional supply kits will be available for $10.00. The supply kit contains specialty beads and goodies.

  • Julie Picarello -- Mokume Gane, which loosely translates to "wood-eye-metal", is a Japanese metalworking technique traditionally used to adorn samurai swords. In this one-day workshop, a loose adaptation of the technique will be used to create vibrantly colored and uniquely detailed polymer focal beads. Students will focus on the process of designing both dimensional and mixed media beads, including:
    1. Color
    2. Imprints
    3. Creating Depth & Dimension
    4. Bead Shaping
    5. Finishing

Optional supply kit will be available for $10.00. The supply kit contains an imprint tool set, washers & metal accents, metal leaf, sandpaper and deli paper. Prior experience with polymer clay is helpful but not necessary.

  • Sarah Shriver -- Learn to mix beautiful colors of polymer clay using Sarah's in depth Skinner blending techniques. We will create subtle and painterly canes to be manipulated into a myriad of patterns and used to make beads for our bracelets. Various bead shapes that work well with this simple easy-to-wear bracelet style and finishing techniques for a refined look will be covered.
